Rejoicing in Suffering

Romans 5
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Just take some time to thank God for your sufferings, and rejoice in them because we have peace with God because of Jesus Christ. Make a time of stress or sorrow into praise.

I would love to hear from people about these verses.

hey man, hope you're having a squattacular day today. It's Tuesday, and I am not being very diligent with how I am spending my time given that I have a philosophy paper due tomorrow morning, but hey, I thought I would share this anyways.

These verses, specifically verses 1 and 2 have been a few of the most recollected verses for me. I am reminded of the gospel here perhaps more powerfully than anywhere else in scripture. We have peace with God. PEACE! Do you realaize how incredible that is? We sin against him all the time. We still do. I sin, trangress his laws, and effectively spit into his face every day that I'm alive, but I still have peace with him. What govenor would have peace with me under these circumstances. It's crazy.

This comes from his grace through faith in Christ and allows us to rejoice in our sufferings, to rejoice in everything. Shoot, I'll never exhaust the amazing state of grace that this verse describes us in. WOOHOO!!!
