Like a Child
Today, I was riding on a mower to hole 7. As I passed hole 6, I saw this little boy standing on the fairway near the cart path. He was watching his dad and grandfather play golf. When he heard me drive by on my mower, he turned and looked at me. With the biggest smile and as loud as he could (enough to be heard over a mower), he waved and said, "Hello!" All I could do was smile and wave back. Then, I thought of Matthew 18:1-4.
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.I was challenged: Why am I not afraid like this little boy? He acted as if he knew me his whole life, but I had never seen him before. I should be so joyful about seeing people I don't know! The little boy was not afraid; he only wanted to convey "Hello." Lord, make me like that little boy in that I will not be afraid and will want to convey the gospel.
