Music
Even though I am an amateur musician at best (at the baritone and trying to learn the bass guitar), I love music. I am very passionate about it.
Some of my favorite composers are:
Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninov, Strauss, Stravinsky, Brahms, Chopin, Gershwin, Handel, Haydn, Pachelbel, Tchaikovsky, Faure, Vivaldi
I especially love the work of most modern sound track composers. You may recognize some of the names, but in parenthesis is a movie that you may know their work from.
Klaus Badelt (The Pirates of the Caribbean), John Williams (Star Wars), Hans Zimmer (Gladiator), Edward Shearmur (The Count of Monte Cristo), Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia), Howard Shore (LOTR) If you get a chance, check out their work at Amazon.com
Also for those of you who read music, melt your mind with these:
Hemidemisemiquaver (64th note) - This is my favorite word!
Semihemidemisemiquaver (128th note)
Think they're never used? Check out Beethoven's Sonata "Pathetique" Op. 13, 1st Movement (pg. 148) here.

Ah, Beethoven's “Pathetique.” Very nice. Mozart’s probably my favorite, followed closely by Handel. (“The Messiah” rocks my face off every time I listen to it.)
Hey, how come I didn’t know you liked film scores? Or did you tell me and I just don’t remember? You need to check out James Newton Howard (The Village, Dinosaur, King Kong) and the recently-deceased Jerry Goldsmith (Rudy, First Knight, Air Force One).
Do not fret. I have not told you before. The truth is that I go crazy for good film scores. If only people saw me do work while listening to it with headphones on...
squatty, you are the laziest blogger ever. POST SOMETHING!
oh, post those pictures David was talking about.
dude...i played the pathetique back in the day. gosh. i will never forgive my teacher for THAT one.
